A man found in critical condition in Manchester city centre has led to the naming of suspects for assault. The incident occurred on Back Piccadilly, near Spear Street, on Thursday evening, November 6. Police were called to the scene, where a man was found with life-threatening injuries. He remains in hospital in a critical condition. A man and a woman have been charged with assault in connection with the incident. Simon Starrs, 37, and Lucy Sheriff, 34, both of no fixed abode, have been charged with one count of assault. They are due to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court. Another woman who was arrested for assault has been bailed with conditions. The police have assured the public that their dedicated Piccadilly Gardens policing neighbourhood team will be patrolling the area to provide reassurance and visibility to the communities.
